It was a simple and effective song with pleasant arrangements. Some months ago, Mumbai-based Zarir Marfatia released his debut single ‘Parallel Lines”. Zarir Marfatia/ Eyes Half Closed, self-released Khan’s rustic voice provides a folk feel, and the main vocals linger in your mind. The amalgam of folk vocals with jazz arrangements is smooth, as the tandoora, dholak and manjira play alongside the saxophone, electric guitar, bass and drums. The song talks of how people from Kashi (Varanasi) tried to play a prank on Sant Kabir. On ‘Kashi’, Jaisalmer-based singer Bagga Khan and his group team up with jazz band Syncopation to narrate a Kabir tale. Here’s an interesting blend of Meghwal bhajan from Rajasthan with contemporary jazz. That stops me from giving any credit him there when he chose to be a worse version of himself in real life while he could have been a better version with all the access he had in industry.Bagga Khan Group and Syncopation/ Kashi, Anahad Foundation Salman played soft roles but behaved worse in real life with all those allegations of him leaving his previous girlfriend for next one. I didn’t witness the era of Anil Kapoor so won’t comment on what his perception was that time but based on few movies and songs of him the roles felt like a softer guy compared to AB for example. Tomorrow if the wives of any of these stars call them out, I would definitely believe them especially Twinkle and Gauri because they married when both the guys weren’t such big stars hence no exaggerated personal benefits or any such stuff and as opposed to popular opinion here I believe neither guys nor mistress, wives are victims in these cases but till then I am giving them a benefit of doubt. I believe in having same energy for the guys who get called out. We need more Arshad and Javed Jaffery dance content.
Why isn’t Daisy Shah a choreographer and sticking to movies? She is a decent dancer and was Ganesh Aacharya’s assistance choreographer. Shraddha SUCKS at dancing now(I honestly went OMG SHRADDHA CAN DANCE?!?! when Sun Sathiya came out) I think probably because she stopped practicing or stopped trying when it came to dancing? I feel like he could fit in as one really well alongside acting. Idk why Shahid hasn’t considered Choreography. But Ananya’s behind the beat dancing(I could go on for HOURS on this) is lauded as dance.
And students who do PT do a better job than Tiger.Īctresses who can remotely dance(yes I do put Disha on there even though she doesn’t have fluidity) don’t get opportunities to showcase their dance(Sandeepa, Sanya, I’m looking at you). Also his dance skills in Munna Michael made him look like he had potential to improve and be a good dancer. Sad part? He ain’t remotely close to Hrithik in terms of films dance numbers and acting. He just thinks doing same 20 steps will make people think he’s the next coming of Hrithik. I’d rather watch PT than watch Tiger dance. Personally, Jacqueline is a better dancer(she doesn’t have as good song numbers now but she’s had a few in her early days -and she can pull a Prabhudeva choreo). Kat can’t dance - she just happened to click with Shiela and got rebranded as the actress with the item songs. He's got an easy, natural, relatable dance-gait that I actually enjoy. He's not a showstopper, frontline dancer but honestly that's not what's needed sometimes. Unpopular opinion but I think Abhishek actually has pretty good rhythm. Hrithik is getting a bit better at relaxing with that, but Varun is just a lost cause with this. Hrithik/Tiger/Varun/Shahid are too conscious that they are meant to be great dancers and no matter how flexible and smooth they are onscreen, it still comes across as rehearsed/practiced and even contrived more times than not. But I feel like he doesn't get to dance enough! He's got natural rhythm and flair and that really can't be taught. It would be great to see her do an actually classical number, I think she could pull it off quite nicely.
Katrina I think is generally choreographed badly, she's given steps that are aerobic instead of actually *dancing *.
